After an 18-month refurbishment programme, we are pleased to announce that the Dutch Galleries will be re-opening on 20 March 2012. These three newly refurbished galleries create a fresh architectural language for the display of one of Europe’s finest collections of Dutch art. The original height from the time of Sir Richard Wallace has been recreated and new roof lights bring natural light and clear views of the sky into the galleries. The paintings will be hung on a deep, rich blue silk, influenced by the rooms of two historic figures including the Prince Regent. In order for visitors to learn more about the project, we are pleased to present our behind-the-scenes video. It will be updated in March to reveal the completed hang.
