Art Cavaliers Informal Evening Masterclasses

The Wallace Collection’s popular Art Cavaliers evening masterclasses are returning in 2015 for the ninth year running.

Held in our beautiful galleries, including the newly refurbished Great Gallery, after the Collection has closed to the public, this series of five special evening tours allows participants to discover art history in an informal, friendly setting, and to learn more about the fascinating history of the Wallace Collection and its works of art.

Art Cavaliers is perfect for those who have always wanted to know more about art but never thought they had the time. Held fortnightly on Friday evenings, from 6.30 – 8.30pm, the courses are designed to suit those with a busy schedule, or those who simply wish to experience one of the UK’s finest national museums as part of this special season of evening tours. Each class focuses on a different area of the Wallace’s fascinating and diverse Collection, and will be hosted by one of our expert curators.

This year’s sessions will be:

Session One: French Decorative Arts
Friday 16 January- Dr Helen Jacobsen

Session Two: The Art of the Low Countries
Friday 30 January – Dr Lucy Davis

Session Three: Masterpieces of Portraiture
Friday 13 February – Dr Christoph Vogtherr

Session Four: The Age of Chivalry
Friday 27 February – Dr Tobias Capwell

Session Five: European Sculpture
