The nine volumes of The Frick Collection: An Illustrated Catalogue chronicle the museum's world-famous holdings of paintings, sculpture, furniture, gilt bronzes, enamels, porcelains, rugs, and silver.
Although the Frick Collection is best known to the general public for its paintings, its galleries also house what John Pope-Hennessy, in his introduction to these volumes, calls “the finest collection of small bronzes in the United States and oneof the finest collections of small bronzes in the world.”
Among these sculptures are masterpieces by Pollaiuolo, Riccio, Bertoldo, and Severo da Ravenna, as well as the finest surviving interpretation of a model by Michelangelo, and important works by Northern European artists.
