For Visitors who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

 Audio Guides
Audio guides are available. They are T-coil compatible and equipped with volume control. Neckloops are also available. Transcripts for English version audio guides are available.

Lectures
The Lecture Theatre is equipped with an Audio Loop System.

Tours
Guides can wear Portable Hearing Loops on request, please inform the Information Desk or your Guide before the start of the tour if you require this service.

 Practical Art and Art History Events in BSL and SSE
‘Deaf Visions’ is a quarterly programme introducing the Wallace Collection to the Deaf community. Events are delivered in British Sign Language and/or Sign Supported English with talks and art activities for children and adults. A BSL interpreter is available for hearing people, so both Deaf and hearing people can enjoy the activities together. For Visitors with Mobility Impairments

 Entrance
There is a sloped driveway up to the front entrance with ramp access to both the left and right hand sides.  Both of these entrance double doors are automatic.

Parking
Limited parking at the front of the Museum is available to visitors who are disabled. This should be booked in advance by telephoning the Security Desk on +44 (0)20 7563 9524. There are 2 parking spaces for Blue Badge holders in Manchester Square and others in nearby streets.

Access for wheelchair users
There is access for wheelchair users to all public areas, including galleries, restaurant, library, education studio and lecture theatre. The lecture theatre has space for up to 4 wheelchair users. There is a lift to all three floor with voice announcer. Remote door openers are available from the Security Desk.

Toilets
Public toilets are on the lower ground floor under the restaurant. There is an accessible lavatory with a panic button and audio visual alarm. Click here for a map highlighting toilet areas.

There is an audio guide created for people with visual impairments. Cost is £4 including a large print floorplan.

 Galleries

Free image and text sheets are available in some galleries

Large print labels are available for all Temporary Exhibitions in the Exhibition Galleries on the Lower Ground Floor

An arms and armour handling collection and wood marquetry handling material is available in the Conservation Gallery on the Lower Ground Floor

Multi- Sensory Art Events

‘Sensation!’ is a quarterly programme introducing the Wallace Collection to people who are blind or partially sighted. Gallery activities and workshops are delivered by people with visual impairments who will help you enjoy the Wallace Collection in a new way.
